Is it possible to do a Buddhist wedding without one of the traditional vows?

If I was to get married in a Buddhist ceremony someday, would I be allowed not to do the set of vows where as a wife I say that I will perform the household duties? I do not plan to be a homemaker or anything of the sort. So would this be permissible for a Buddhist or should it just be done anyway?
