When/if aliens do show themselves?

Hi! Wow, Free Man's answer was cool, mine is not too unlike his... I think that the aliens in the crafts may even be 'robots' for a much larger species. Maybe the crafts are just remote controlled toys to them. Or perhaps they are interdimensional travellers instead of interstellar. Or maybe they are us in the future.
