Impreza 2.5i/WRX owners....?

I have a 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i. It is a 5 spd manual. My question is to other owners of the car...Is yours as loud as mine? Once I get about 3000rpm's, the motors vibration and noise is unreal. I know the boxer motor is a bit louder and that subaru used less noise dampening to make it more of a drivers car, but I have test driven several other cars that are in its cl like the Mazda 3 5door and the thing is super super quiet, even upwards of 5000rpms. I am very hesitant to rev much past 3000 just because of the noise. Anyone else feel the same way? Im not sure if the WRX is the same but one has to ume that it is because it is the same platform and motor. Just want to make sure that this is normal!
